Welcome to the 2013 Concord Hills Swim team! Our team has been a part of the neighborhood recreation association for over twenty years. Mike Bowman, who also coaches for Farragut High School and Atomic City Aquatic Club (ACAC), coaches the CHRA Piranhas. He has three assistant coaches as well. We are part of the Greater Knoxville Area Interclub Swim Association (GKAISA). You can find more information about them at their website: http://www.gkaisa.org
Swimmers range in age from 5-18 and have varying degrees of swimming experience and ability. During the summer we swim in 5 dual meets (the schedule is below) as well as The Smoky Mountain Invitational Meet in Alcoa, TN and The City Meet at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center at UT. The swim season runs from late May until the last weekend of July. Practice begins on Tuesday, May 28th.
If you would like more information please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Team Picture is on Thursday, June 6th before the Blue and White Meet. You will receive more information soon. Please plan to attend.
TEAM HANDBOOKFor new and old parents, the link following link is the 2013 Team Handbook. It describes worker positions, how the meets are scored, and even a recipe for swimmer's ear drops. Consider it a must read before the season kicks off and as it progresses.
The Piranhas will have their first sign up on Saturday, April 27th from 11:30am-3:00pm at Concord Hills Pool! We will have additional sign ups at the pool from 11:30-3:00 on Saturday, May 11th and Saturday, May 18th as well. Additional information, sign up forms, etc. will follow in a separate e-mail. Swim & Tri will be available at the first two sign-ups from 12:00-3:00 for team swimsuit fitting and sales. The pool address is 10731 Farragut Hills Blvd., Farragut, TN 37934.
IMPORTANT! Bring your calendars because you will asked to signup up for volunteer positions for our home and away meets.
Because swim meets are labor intensive, each family is required to work at meets so they run smoothly and efficiently. Each family will be responsible for working a "shift" at the Blue & White Meet AND three shifts at our other meets (a "shift" is either the first or second half of a swim meet). If you cannot work your required shifts, your child will not be able to swim.
In addition, if your child swims at Smoky Mtn. and/or City Meet, families will be required to work shifts to assist in meeting our team's worker assignments.
When you sign up your child, you will be asked to sign up for your shifts so bring your calendars with you. Swim Meet dates are below. Additional information regarding job descriptions will be sent in a separate e-mail.
Lastly, it is important to realize that volunteering for a position doesn't mean you will miss your child's swim. Plenty of parents chip in so you can watch your child compete.

We have 2 levels of costs for swimmers, CHRA and non-CHRA members.
For CHRA Members:
1st swimmer $85
2nd swimmer $80
3rd swimmer $75
4th swimmer $70 and so on
In addition to the above costs, we charge a fundraising fee of $60 PER FAMILY. This gives the family 5 tickets to our pancake breakfast to be held on June 22nd from 8am to 10am at the Texas Roadhouse in Turkey Creek.
For Non CHRA Members – Swim Team Only: (a $75 fee is added to each swimmer with the money going directly to CHRA to cover non-member insurance costs)
1st swimmer $160
2nd swimmer $155
3rd swimmer $150
4th swimmer $145 and so on
If you are not a member of the pool, you are expected to leave as soon as practice is over. If you decide to “Upgrade” your Swim Team Only status to a membership, the cost is $390 minus the $75 per swimmer you already paid.
For those of you who have younger swimmers and are not sure if they are team ready, we have a week long SWIM CLINIC. It begins on May 20th and runs through May 23rd. Swimmers aged 10 and under will swim from 5-6pm and the swimmers aged 11 and older swim from 6-7. The cost for the week is $30 per swimmer. This is an excellent way for your child to meet the team and coaches plus learn about summer swimming.
***Extra Swim Lessons***
Most of the assistant coaches are available for additional swim lessons for your swimmer or a non-swimming sibling who is not on the team. Arrangements are made between you and the coach and fees are paid directly to the coach. Each coach sets his or her own prices.
